Throughout May, we asked our army to share one thing they wish more people knew about CF.

And they did. 

Mae said she wishes people knew how difficult it is for her to breathe.

For James, it’s how much a CF kid goes through every day.

Luke and Mary Toki wish more people understood how emotionally and physically exhausting CF can be.

And Kristy shared how she wished people knew that nothing she does is ever enough.

“I wish more people knew that cystic fibrosis is a curable disease and that research is the key," say's Dr Leszek Lisowski.

Dr Lisowski is referring to one of the most frustrating parts of CF research: in principle, we know how to cure it using gene therapy.  The only thing that’s missing is a safe and effective way to deliver the CFTR gene to the affected cells. That’s exactly what Dr Lisowski and his team are working on.

His work is expensive, but its value is unquantifiable.
